Within the opening minutes of the third stanza Bush went down on an awkward tackle and xrays revealed he had fractured two bones in his lower right leg. The injury will cost Bush the season, and will likely end his college career. "It was devastating to lose a player like him," said Louisville coach Bobby Petrino. "It hurts a lot because of what Michael has done for this program." And Bush has done mountains for a small program often overshadowed by giants of the Big Ten in the area. Last season, he lead the nation in scoring averaging a solid 14.4 points per game while also scoring a school record 23 touchdowns. Bush is scheduled to undergo suregry for the injury this afternoon. ----- |
