Last Week Recap:
We made up for a less than stellar opening weekend of picks with last week's 5-1-2 mark gaining back a full 5 units. Two unit pick Louisville demolished Miami at Papa John's and our only loser came from a UConn team that out FD'd Wake Forest 22-11, and outgained the Deac's 324-209. BYU should have also picked up a win (instead of the push) but missed a FG in the first half, was intercepted at the BC 15, and missed two more FGs with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game. Any points on the board in those situations likely would have kept the game out of OT and given BYU (+7) the cover.
In other worthwhile news and commentary, here's some additional college football notes from last weekend's games:
Ohio State got a late cover against Cincinnati bringing its total to 3-0 ATS this season and a strong 10-0 ATS over their last 10 games. The Buckeyes have also been "Under" the number in all three games this season.
Maryland got shellacked by WVU but turnovers played a key roll in that game. Maryland lost 5 TOs including a fumble on an early kick return after WVU had just scored to go ahead 7-0 . When the ball popped free, the Mountaineers covered it in the red zone setting up a TD a few plays later. In the interim, when the ball got away from WVU, it seemed to be no problem. Slayton fumbled at the five but the ball bounced into the MD EZ and was coverd by WVU for a TD and on a later KO Reynaud muffed the ball but recovered himself and raced 96 yards for a TD
Oklahoma got jobbed against Oregon and the fans of Sooner Nation are in an uproar. As much as we sympathize, Oklahoma could have put this game away and none of this controversy would be relevant. With a 1st and Goal at the three and less than seven minutes to play the Sooners failed to convert and settled for a FG. Later, they had a first and goal at the 5 and couldn't punch it in. After sitting back in prevent and letting the Ducks score once, they did so a second time, and then had a FG blocked that would have salvaged the win. We feel for the Sooners, but when you cannot get either of two possessions inside the five into the EZ and settle for FGs you should be more than aware that you are letting your opponent hang around to beat you down the road (ask that Ohio State team that made five FGs against Texas in Columbus last year.)

This Week's One Unit Recommendations
Michigan -14 v Wisconsin
UCONN +2 at Indiana
CMU -4 at EMU
Wash St -10 at Stanford
Michigan -14 over Wisky
Predicted Yardage Numbers ::
Michigan :: 218 RY, 209 PY
Wisconsin :: 58 RY, 111 PY
Comments: The yardage numbers give a significant advantage to Big Blue here against Wisky and the only concern is that they suffer a bit of a letdown after the big game against Notre Dame and come in a bit flat. With the projection showing a twenty point victory, we still feel safe enough to make a one unit wager against this 14 point line.
Predicted final::
Michigan 36
Wisconsin 16
UConn +2 at Indiana
Predicted Yardage Numbers ::
UConn:: 210 RY, 169 PY
Indiana:: 85 RY, 201 PY
Comments: Indiana will be without the HC for this game and WR Hardy. The numbers favor UConn even after they bumbled around against Wake last week and shot themselves in the foot. IU lost to 1AA competition and if the Huskies play as they are capable they should cruise. Take the points for one unit, but get in soon as UConn is losing points since the open and has dropped to a one point in some locations (as of this writing you can still find 2 points at WSEX.com and Sportsbook.com).
Predicted final::
UConn 24
Indy 20
C Michigan -4 at E Michigan
Predicted Yardage Numbers ::
CMU:: 174 RY, 185 PY
EMU:: 103 RY, 205 PY
Comments: Our numbers give a solid TD edge to CMU (3-0 ATS TY) in this game with just a 4 point spread. With the Chips on the road, and EMU 12-4 ATS in this series, we'll temper it down to one unit .
Predicted final::
CMU 31
EMU 24
Wash St -10 at Stanford
Predicted Yardage Numbers ::
WSU:: 201 RY, 228 PY
Stan:: 101 RY, 263 PY
Comments: We won handily last week betting against the Cardinal and we like Wazzou as well. Our numbers give the Cougars a two TD edge and with the line at only 10 we like WSU for one unit.
Predicted final::
WSU 30
Stan 16
