| Pac-10 Week 10 Game Previews By Derek Wong Pac-10 Correspondent Nov 1, 2007 - 10:48:14 AM |
Arizona had a big win against Washington last week while the Bruins got upset by Washington State. Arizona clearly has the offensive advantage in this game. If the Wildcats are up early, it will be hard for the Bruins to keep up. Pat Cowan is not a good quarterback and their top RB Khalil Bell is out for the year. Both coaches are on the hot seat so this is a big game for Karl Dorrell and Mike Stoops.

Arizona State vs Oregon
This is the best matchup of the week in the Pac-10. QB Rudy Carpenter is not 100% healthy with a sprained thumb that could affect him on Saturday. RB Ryan Torrain is out for the year but Keegan Herring and Dmitri Nance are both running very well in place of Torrain. The underrated ASU defense will have to try to contain Dennis Dixon and the spread offense. Oregon is a scoring machine but they have lost some of their top wideouts for the season and this will hurt them eventually. ASU should try to stop the run game first and make Dixon beat them with his arm.

Washington vs Stanford
Tyrone Willingham will lead his Huskies to Palo Alto this Saturday to face his old team. Stanford got the best of Washington last year by a score of 20-3. Stanford will be starting a freshman running back again due to injuries. QB Tavita Pritchard is still learning the position but will get better with more experience. He has talented WRs in Mark Bradford, Richard Sherman, and Evan Moore to throw to. Washington has a weak secondary and gave up 48 points to Arizona last week at home. This will be a very high-scoring game as QB Jake Locker and the Huskies offense will also put up a lot of points.

Oregon State vs USC
USC lost to Oregon State last year in Corvallis and will be seeking revenge. RB Yvenson Bernard is not likely to play due to an injury and this is a huge setback for Mike Riley's team. QB John David Booty will get the call most likely for the Trojans as he is now healthy. USC's defense will swarm all over QB Sean Canfield and grab a couple of picks on Saturday. USC's offense will do just enough to help the Trojans defeat the Beavers.

Washington State vs Cal
The Cougars are coming off a big upset win over UCLA at home while Cal suffered their third loss in a row by losing to Arizona State. Cal will rebound this weekend at home with the help of their offense. Although the Cougars have played much better on defense lately, the Cal offense will be too much for them. QB Nate Longshore has not played well ever since he suffered an ankle injury but he will rebound against a shaky Cougars secondary. Look for WRs DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins to have big games along with RB Justin Forsett. The Cal defense has not played well and QB Alex Brink is capable of capitalizing on their weaknesses. This should be another high-scoring game.
